As a wedding photographer, I come across many couples...and yet it never gets old, never gets confusing. Each wedding I photograph remains a unique affair in my memory, and although over the months I might cease to remember the types of flowers or the color scheme that my past clients had at their wedding, I will always remember what makes them special as a couple. This quickly became obvious to me when I first met Lexy and Matt for their engagement shoot in Oxford. They operated on the same wavelength, and while Lexy was shy, Matt was always quick to make her laugh. Their friends knew they were meant for each other when they couldn't stop chattering about their latest and greatest idea to save beavers. Like I mentioned after their engagement shoot, it's hard not to go "awww" once you've spent five minutes with them.
Their beautiful Bath wedding was like no other. They started with a casual breakfast with friends where everyone got to relax and chat over croissants and juice, and then Lexy and Matt went home to get ready. Usually, brides wouldn't want their grooms to see them before the ceremony, but as I photographed shots of Matt singing a love song whilst Lexy put her dress on, I started to wonder why more couples didn't do this. It was such a sweet moment where they got to be together before they became husband and wife. And when Matt came in to help Lexy with her necklace and gave her a kiss, pretty much everyone in the room had to wipe away a tear. Oh, and when I walked into the room, I saw that they had framed and hung pictures from their engagement shoot! Way to make my day you guys!
I have to give a shout out to Matt and Tom, the couple's bestman and usher, who was so incredibly helpful and gracious throughout the day. They were so calm and on top of things that it was hard for me to believe that they weren't hired professionals. But once I got to spend time with Lexy and Matt, it's not hard to see why their friends were so willing to help them out. They're just the type of people that are so nice that it makes you want to be nice! Matthew and Lexy, thank you for letting me be a part of your day. Truly it was a wedding I will never forget, and you guys are just about the loveliest couple ever. I have no doubt that you will enjoy married life to the fullest and continue to spread the love to everyone. Categories:
