It's a quiet rainy Tuesday here in Oxford, and on such days, I like to curl up with a fat lil mug of tea and write away the day. This morning, I came across a picture I'd taken of one of my dresses. This dress is special to me because not only did my girl friends pick it out for me, but it's also the dress that I wore when Mike and I had our little English wedding.

When I saw the picture of the dress, it made me dig through my closet...and who knew? I have quite a few pretty, photogenic items just hanging in my closet, each one with a tiny story behind it.

I've worn these shoes twice in the five years I've owned them. I know that's pretty ridiculous, but these shoes were given to me by my mom, who I miss really badly because she lives in Indonesia, and the last time I wore them was to a ball at St Cross College and I got a grass stain on it, which completely freaked me out. I'll muster the courage to wear them again...when I find out how to wrap cling film all around them.

Now these shoes were what I wore to our civil ceremony. The most special thing about them is the fact that they got really muddy that day because we all slogged through the University Parks to take pictures...and in a fit of good-will, Mike cleaned them for me. Without me asking him to! Every time I see these shoes I'm reminded that I'm married to one of the sweetest guys in the world. Happy rainy Tuesday!
